Today’s global focus on COVID-19 and everyone is making the changes needed to slow the spread of this coronavirus. As a result, hundreds of thousands of people are cancelling or rescheduling their air travel.
However, even with all the uncertainty and anxiety in the world right now, the attention to sustainability has not been lost.
One of our sustainability team members received information about a flight change and quickly noticed the email also included carbon footprint data. Not a graph or general information, specific information directly relating to his flight.
The airline was reporting the carbon footprint of the flight, in black and white, as part of whole email. No special call out “Look at us,” no bold font, no green circle (I added that), just business as usual.
We all hope this transparency becomes standard for all organization communications, not just the large corporations.
